Another great Rabbi tale!
Bayonet swinging, Rabbi Hawkins, trying to win a $20 wager with his boss Lieutenant Cockrobin and colleague, Private Schmidt, stumbles across a suspicious hit-and-run while out on manoeuvres. All bets were off as Rabbi using his personal code of behaviour–it’s better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission–becomes the company’s stalking P.I. Convinced it was a murder, Rabbi diligently follows each trail that leads him to the killer. Except it wasn’t…the killer. Well, not at first, anyway. An ex-lax prank put on by two soldiers, Massey and Ferguson (with those names, is it any wonder they were friends) made it difficult for Rabbi to get to the bottom (no pun intended) of this mystery. But Rabbi’s perseverance and doggedness persist right to the end when it comes down to – a fight to the death.
